The Boox is an eReader by a Chinese company that currently outreaches all of the current readers on the market. The Boox is an eReader with the latest techniques. It is a multifunction device that can store all your books. A Boox just reads like you're reading a hard-copy book. The possibilities are endless. Since specifications often really don't say that much, the Boox will be discussed on the basis of four key front lines: Reading convenience, compactness, convenience and design.
Reading Convenience
There's often some doubt about the reading convenience when purchasing an eReader. It is often thought that an eReader is the same as a computer screen and thus not so nice to read from. However, this is a false argument. The biggest difference lies in the fact that an eReader doesn't use "backlight". This makes reading an eBook a soothing experience for your eyes. The Boox reads an eBook like a normal "tangible" book. This is also because the text is displayed on a high resolution display, 16 shades of gray. The Boox has currently a 6 inch screen that can be tilted, so that texts can also be displayed horizontally.
Compactness
The Boox is a solid machine (see review ereaders.nl) weighing 210 grams. The reader is 10mm thick and can store an unlimited number of books. This is done via the included USB cable or by entering an SD card. The Boox can flip 10,000 page turns on a full battery without being recharged in the meantime.
Convenience
The options menu of the Boox is extensive. You can easily increase the font so that it's easier to read the text. You can make annotations, select and highlight text (especially handy in PDF format). You can turn the page in a fraction of a second with a simple click. You can see how far you are advanced in the book through the progress bar at the bottom of the screen. Are you sick of reading? Then turn off the eReader, and next time you switch on the eReader you can continue reading on the page where you stopped when you switched off the eReader last time. You can also easily retrieve the contents of each file so that it's easy to switch between chapters. Another possibility is the search option. With this, the document can be searched on the words you specify. Besides the possibility to read books, the Boox is also equipped with a touch screen, Wi-Fi, MP3 player, virtual keyboard, a display of photos and screensaver.
Design
There are many readers in which the design is inadequate. The Boox on the other hand has a unique and stylish design. The Boox comes in a black or white leather pouch.
